At Barnsley Recovery Steps, we support individuals looking to change their relationship with alcohol or other drugs. We also offer valuable support to professionals working with people seeking change.
Our H.O.P.E Team (Health, Outreach, Prevention, and Education) runs training for professionals and the public, helping to increase awareness of substance use, its effects, and how to reduce harm.

Naloxone Training

Naloxone training is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to opioid overdoses using naloxone. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of opioid overdose.

Drug Awareness Training

Drugs awareness training is allows professionals to be educated and expand awareness regarding the risks, signs, and implications of drug use.

Alcohol and Older People

Alcohol and older people training is designed to raise awareness and improve understanding of how alcohol affects individuals aged 50 and over, including the unique risks, health impacts, and support needs in later life.

Alcohol Awareness

Alcohol awareness training provides participants with the knowledge and tools to understand the effects of alcohol, recognise potentially harmful behaviours, and how to reduce alcohol levels safely.

Substance Use and Mental Health

Substance use and mental health training is designed to equip professionals with the understanding and skills to address the complex relationship between mental health issues and substance use.

Cannabis and THC Vaping

This training will increase awareness of modern cannabis products and vaping devices. As well as understand the risks and misconceptions around THC vaping.
