At Barnsley Recovery Steps, we’re committed to providing comprehensive support tailored to your individual needs. Our aim is to help you overcome challenges, reduce or end offending behaviour, and maintain employment. Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) and Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) in Barnsley

The Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) and Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) are community sentences designed to help you address substance use issues and reduce the risk of reoffending. With a focus on your individual recovery, we offer structured, community-based treatment plans that may include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychosocial support, and access to medications that can manage cravings. We also provide access to community detox, inpatient detox, and rehabilitation services, all guided by our Recovery Navigators.

ATR/DRR Suitability Assessment

Your suitability for an ATR or DRR is assessed by a specialist at Barnsley Recovery Steps. The National Probation Service can request this assessment as part of your pre-sentence report. We offer same-day assessments to avoid delays in court proceedings, and for more complex cases, we’ll arrange an assessment before your next court date. We can also conduct these assessments via video link if you’re in custody on remand.
